Laureates 2019
With the Social Sculpture Award, the SSC Social Sculpture Corporation honours outstanding initiatives and individuals who have a special exemplary function in shaping society in the sense of social sculpture.
In 2019 the Social Sculpture Award will be presented to two winners:
Johannes Stüttgen and Utopiastadt.
Johannes Stüttgen
is being honoured for his life’s work in spreading, deepening and continuing Joseph Beuys’ idea of an expanded concept of art, for precision and clarity in showing the idea of Social Sculpture in its various facets, and for his practical commitment as co-founder of the Omnibus for Direct Democracy. The prize money is 10,000 euros. The award ceremony took place on 22 November 2019 in Düsseldorf.

Utopiastadt
is awarded as an ecological-social model project that brings together different initiatives to form a future-oriented sustainability network and brings about social transformation towards greater participation, ecological sustainability and social justice. The prize money is 10,000 euros. The award ceremony took place on 23 November 2019 at Utopiastadt in Wuppertal.
